Rocoto de seda, 10 Seeds, Capsicum Pubescens, Homegrown (217)
Rocoto is the South American term for chili peppers of the Capsicum pubescens species. "Pubescens" means "hairy" and comes from the fact that the leaves of plants are hairy. The clearest differentiator for other species is the decorative purple flowers. Rocotos is well worth spending the winter as they can reach quite old age. Because their stems lignify quickly, they are also known as "chiles de arbol". Rocoto plants can tolerate the cooler nights in the Central European climate. With good care and the right conditions, Rocotos can live 10 years or more.
