Habanero Black, Negro, 10 Seeds, Capsicum chinense, Homegrown (92)
A new chile grown in 2010 that is not among the best, but may be one of the tastiest. It was originally developed by a European producer who crossed a Clove with a chocolate habanero. Clove is a milder version of the Fatalii. These peppers ripen from light green to dark brown.
They are between 2-6 inches long and resemble a mini-Anaheim or Big Jim. The level of itchiness is like a medium variety of chinense. They get big enough to fill! Planta is a huge grower of multiple peppers, so much so that you might have to stake it to prevent branches from breaking! The flavor is rich, almost like it happens. What this pepper lacks in heat it makes up for in yield and flavor!
